A $100 Prize For The Four Fathers In My Life

  • Sumo

This is my official entry to Noel & Levy’s Thanksgiving contest.

June is known to be the month of the fathers. On the 3rd Sunday of the month, we will be celebrating Father’s Day. Since June is for the fathers, if ever I win a $100 prize, I’ll use it to express my gratitude to the four fathers of my life.

My Heavenly Father
Since I love my Father in heaven and I want to honor Him with my substance (Proverbs 3:9), I’ll give back to Him the 10th part. This is the portion He requires from every believer (Malachi 3:10). And because I love His work, I’ll add another 10% as my offering. My Heavenly Father is the source of everything. I wouldn’t have anything unless He gives it to me.

My Spiritual Father – My Pastor
God gave me a Pastor according to His own heart who feed me with knowledge and understanding. This man nourished my spirit through the messages of God he delivered during worship services. If not for this man, I would not grow in my faith and would not continue in the work of the Lord. Because of his great influence in my spiritual growth, I want to show him my gratefulness, by sharing with him a portion of the prize as my love offering for him.

My Biological Father
God did not only give me a spiritual father, but he also provided me a biological father who worked to feed me and nourished my physical body. My father is sick right now. He was diagnosed with high blood sugar, high blood pressure and infections. Though God provided a neighbor who allowed my father to use their glucometer for free, I intend to buy him his own so he can test his blood sugar anytime. I also intend to buy him his own sphygmomanometer so he can monitor his blood pressure. These will be my late Father’s Day gift to him. I’ll just purchase the medical devices in Bambang where their prices are way cheaper than their actual prices at the mall or drug stores.

The Father of My Daughter – My Husband
Though my husband is not telling me directly,I have a hint that he wants to have a new pair of sunglasses. Whenever we go to the mall, he never failed to visit the Men’s Accessories section where the shades are located. I want to buy him one as a gift and to express my gratefulness to him for being a helpful and understanding partner.ร‚ย  He always helps me doing the household chores especially during the times that I can’t leave the front of my computer because of tons of tasks. Though our daughter’s naughtiness is pushing him to his limits, I know that his doing his best to be patient.

So this is where the $100 prize will go, a well-planned and worthy expenses isn’t?

  1. I think that this was a wonderful shout out to all of the fathers in your life. Of course, we all need to take the time to appreciate our heavenly Father daily, even when it’s not Father’s Day, because then it is more special!
