BC Bloggers Meme: A Day In My Not So Boring Life

Another BC Blogger Meme πŸ™‚ Thanks Yuuki for hosting this week’s Meme.
My day is a typical day for any working mother I guess. The only difference I think is that I do my work at home. And I thank God for that privilege.

My usual weekday starts at the earliest 6:00 AM and the latest 8:00 AM. Yes, there are times that I am still in bed at 8 AM (shame) because I am usually awake every two hours to breastfeed my five-month old infant. But that is the latest. If I could not get up to fix my eldest daughter for school, Ate Bea will do it for me. If the baby is awake before I wake up, Daddy will be in-charge of her for a while. But no matter how late I woke up, I see to it that before I leave my bed, I have uttered a simple and short thank you prayer.

8:00 – 9:00 – That is our breakfast time. Quite late huh!  This is because by this time, the eldest daughter is gone to school. After the breakfast, I will bathe the little one then breastfeed her until she sleeps.

9:00 – 10:00 – I turn on my laptop. While waiting for it to boot, I’ll grab my Bible and do my morning Bible reading then pray. After which, I’ll logon to Skype – my official IM for day work, open my Outlook – my official mail client for my day work, and open my Gmail.
10:00 – 11:00 – Answer important emails and start working for day’s tasks. By 11 I have to leave my post and check if my daughter’s lunch is ready.
11:00 – 13:00 – Work again.
13:00 – 14:00 – lunch time.
14:00 – 16:00 – Work again.
16:00 – 18:00 – I usually take a break from my day time work to wait for my daughter’s arrival from school. I spend some minutes interrogating her talking to her of the things she did in school. After the short talk, I’ll clean up little one for her bedtime. While I’m putting the little one to sleep, I’m giving Ate Bea the instruction on how to prepare the dinner.
18:00 – 19:30 – Dinner time. By this time, Baby is already sleeping. If hubby is not around, I’ll let my eldest daughter eat with Ate Bea and the other church staff. I’ll wait for Husband to arrive for dinner.
19:30 -21:00 Will wrap up my day’s work until Hubby arrive.
21:00 – 22:00 – dinner time with Husband.
22:00 – 22:30 – Devotion time with Hubby.
22:30 – Work again until I decided to sleep. Usually this is the time I do my writing assignments and blog hopping.

You may wonder who takes care of the little one while I work. I usually stand up from time to time to breastfeed her or take charge if Ate Bea could not pacify her. The little one does not have a feeding schedule yet so I squeeze it on my day’s work.

Saturday and Sunday have totally different schedules.

  1. Working moms are the busiest persons I know…I always wonder how they fit in all of that in a day. Working at home has it’s great advantages when it comes to looking after the kids.
