It has been a long time since my husband desired to have his own guitar. We bought one few years ago but he later realized the sound of the guitar is not good. When someone asked the guitar, he gave it wholeheartedly.

His desire to have a good guitar intensifies when we transferred here in Bohol. The church here does not have a decent guitar. The guitar the church was using has already bandages. So went we went to Manila last November, he asked a favor from his co-church worker before now a pastor to accompany him in buying a guitar. He wanted the input of someone who really knows how to check a good guitar so that our money will not be wasted. When we went back here in Bohol, he has the guitar with him.

A week later, my husband realized that the guitar needs a stand so it will not be placed anywhere and it will be easy for him to get it when he feels like playing it. He then checked the guitar stands at BQ Mall and bought one which he thought reasonable for its price. So now, his guitar has its own place.

I had a very busy long weekend. Last Friday, we (me with two other churchmates) went back to Divisoria in the morning to pick up the remaining curtains for our church anniversary. As soon as I got home, I started cleaning up the house while daughter was sleeping. I was able to clean the entire house including the kitchen and the comfort room before my daughter woke up. When my daughter woke up, I was also done taking a bath. We went to the church to help with making the scallop curtain for the stage. We already went home at around 11pm. .

TThe next day, Saturday, I attended to my daughter’s need in the morning. Hubby was out doing a more important work. I fed her, bathed her, and sat down with her to help her do her homework. After that, I volunteered to do the laundry. I was already ashamed with my husband because he has been doing the laundry for the several weeks. After that, we went to McDonald’s to fulfill my promise to my daughter. Then, we headed again to the church to help my friend iron the curtains we bought from Divisoria. At around 7 pm, we went home for dinner. But I had to return to church, less my daughter and husband, to continue with the ironing. There were still 22 window panel curtains which need to be pressed. With the help of other church members, all the curtains including the scallops were put in placed. We were done at around 12 am.

Sunday is the Lord’s Day. However tired I maybe, it was not a valid excuse to neglect my fellowship with the Lord in church. I was able to take a nap in the afternoon before I was awaken by my friend’s knock. We decided to cook spaghetti for a friend who was celebrating her birthday that day. After cooking, I returned to the church for the evening service. After the evening service, I went home with the birthday celebrator and couple of visitors. We enjoyed a simple dinner of spaghetti and toasted bread. I was finally able to drop on the bed at around 11 pm. Exhausted and tired but happy for the things I accomplished for the Lord and for some friends.

I was in Divisoria last Saturday. Divisoria is a market district located in the heart of Manila where the cheapest commodities are being sold. I went there to accompany my friend who was assigned to lead the decoration committee for our 40th Church Anniversary. We went there to scout for new window and stage curtains. Praise the Lord for He answered my prayer to help us find what we need quick and that He allowed us to get a good deal. Needless to say, God made it easy for us. He led us to the store very fast and we were also given discounts on the initial set we purchased. So in less than an hour, we had something to present to our pastor and to rest of the members of the anniversary committees.
Since, it was still early, we agreed to stroll around. I bought things for my daughter. These were some of the things she has been asking praying for quite sometime. And though, I didn’t want to go cheap with her, I have no choice :D Anyway, she’s not yet aware about prices :D

The initial price was Php450 but was given to me at Php300 when I asked for the last price :D

Initial price: Php 120; last price: Php90

These little face towels were Php 50 for 6 pieces, less than Php10 each. But in St. Francis Square, I bought the same kind face towels weeks ago for Php 15 each

Blue Monday

Since I am no longer a student and I seldom go to government offices, I rarely see a Philippine flag standing so proud as the wind blows it. I grabbed the opportunity to capture its glory as it freely danced with the wind when we went to Pasig City Hall few weeks ago.

Our flag is composed of four colors; white, blue, red and yellow. Very appropriate for Blue Monday, Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday, isn’t? I invite you to take a look at our majestic flag.

I am  a Filipino, by birth and by blood, who live in my own free country, Philippines.  I belong to a race who bravely fought for the the liberty of  my own country.  And I praise and thank God for that.

My daughter is still sick :( Her cough is so dry and her fever is on and off. She’s been absent from school since Monday and I doubt if she can already make it tomorrow. Her cough makes her breathing difficult. We nebulize her every now and then to ease her breathing. I suspect that her asthma is also attacking her which aggravates her cough. Her cough interrupts her afternoon nap and sleep at night. Her sleep deprivation is now transparent on her eyes. She still plays when she feels a little better but she’s quite irritable. Even her harsh voice tells that she’s not in good shape.

I pitied my daughter whenever she’s in condition like this. I even thought that her cough will just be a mild one and her body can handle it well already because of her age. But I was wrong. She can still be defeated by cough and asthma. Anyway, she’s still young. My husband and I are still praying that God will allow her to get out from this asthma as she grows old and our God is a God who answers prayers.
