Non-Working Holidays for the Month of August, 2009

  • Sumo

In respect and honor for our former President, Mrs. Corazon Aquino, Malacañang declared August 5 as a special non-working holiday. On this day, the remains of Mrs. Aquino will be buried beside her husband, Ninoy Aquino, at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque. Malacañang also declared August 1 to August 10, as the National Mourning week for the late president.

Another non-working holiday is on August 21, in celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day. This holiday is a Friday so we have another long weekend, yippeee!

For Quezon City residents, August 19 is also a holiday in celebration of Quezon City Day!

The last but not the least holiday in August is the last Monday of the month, 31st of August, in celebration of National Heroes Day!

Two long weekends which we can use to rest or spend quality time with our love ones. Start planning now to maximize these long weekends!

Have a great weekend!
