I am so thankful that until now we still have electricity. This is the longest uninterrupted power supply since the Super Typhoon Yolanda (HAIYAN) Typhoon devastated Visayas and Southern Luzon. The electricity returned yesterday afternoon, just before our afternoon Sunday Worship Service and until now it isn’t cut-off yet. I don’t know if it will be cut-off anytime or the power supply has returned to its normal operation. I am hoping that it is the latter.
This is the second time I was able to report to my online work since the Super Typhoon Yolanda. The first one was last Tuesday, November 12, 2013, when the electricity returned for few hours. That was the first time we had electricity after four days. I grabbed the opportunity to work on some online tasks while the other members of the household did the laundry and stored some water for the coming days’ consumption.
After Tuesday, the electricity returned last Saturday afternoon at around 2 o’clock PM. It went out at around 7 PM. According to the others, the power supply returned at 11 o’clock PM but I didn’t realize it. The electricity lasted until 2 PM yesterday. Then it returned again before 4PM and until now it has not gone out yet. Thank God!
Not all homes in our baranggay already have the electricity. Some of our neighbors went here last Saturday to ask permission if they could recharge their cell phones and flash lights. I don’t really know them but I recognized some of their faces. But there were few whose faces were very unfamiliar. It was only last Saturday I’ve seen their faces. But still we permitted them to recharge for free to share our blessing 🙂
I am one of those whose work highly depends on electricity and internet connection. Without any of these two, I could not earn for my family. Every day that I could not report for work meant no income too. But I have trusted that God will continue to sustain our every need, if not through my work, then by other means. With the return of the electricity, I think He just allowed me rest for few days. So let us see wait and see 😉
